You know, with the penalties added on to my trip for having to go later, and the extra expenses incurred – 110 in taxi fees, 60 in multiple entry applications, 210 in passport/tempassport/no gurantor fees…I think I’m going to have to look into raising some prices around here.
Sadly enough, a day after my wife bought the tickets the travel agent calls back and says ‘oh, sorry, you might get in trouble in Bali. I shouldn’t have sold you those tickets without 6 months left on your passport.”
She goes on to say that there might be a fine or something when we get down there. The wife goes on to say we should postpone the trip. I then tell her that there is no way that when we show up in Bali and I have a Canadian passport with 5 months left on it, 3 of my family members with me, all with club-med reservations for 1 week, return airfare for all, all the proper ID…they will smile and say have a nice trip, Sir.
We had a small argument on it. I overuled her (I know! That was nearly impossible!).
Boy did the shit hit the fan when we got turned away at the sign in counter in Inchon. Do you think she waited to get to a private place to have the tantrum? Nope. VKW right there for a few hundred people to spectacle. Nice.
My mother-in-law, actually had to pull her off of me!
Anyway. The moral of the story is – keep yuor passports updated.
Well, Thirsty, I can tell you that it was fairly frosty around the house for a while. Brrr. Warming up slowly, though, as we will be making another attempt at Bali on the 11th.
I’m quite certain that the penalties incurred on late penalties for flights and hotels will be taken from my allowance this month.

All joking aside, is that not what you pay a travel agent for? I would think those are the details the agent should be concerned with.
